Another major fight has been added to the fourth quarter slate. Sources have told ESPN‘s boxing insider Mike Coppinger that bantamweight titles Nonito Donaire is planning to defend his title against Reymart Gaballo on December 11. The fight is tentatively scheduled to take place at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
Adding to the Showtime Boxing card, 140-pound prospect Brandun Lee is set to fight Juan Heraldez on the undercard. With immense power and an undefeated record of 23-0, Lee is one of the most feared knockout artists in the division. His opponent, Juan Heraldez, is a seasoned fighter with a record of 16-1. However, he has not won a fight since early 2019.
Lee-Heraldez and Donaire-Gaballo adds to a crowded slate of fights for Showtime over the next two months. Most notably, Stephen Fulton and Brandon Figueroa will compete in a unification bout on November 27. A few weeks later, Jake Paul will return to the ring to fight Tommy Fury.
Beyond the Showtime slate, Caleb Plant will fight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez for the undisputed 168-pound title on November 5 and Shawn Porter will challenge Terrence Crawford on November 20. Not to mention, Gervonta Davis, Vasyl Lomachenko and Devin Haney will return to the ring in early December. In short, boxing is booming, baby!
