In an interview with Native Instruments, Noah “40” Shebib, who is responsible for multiple hits by Drake, speaks on taking a silent approach to creating music and not just simply tossing out singles without a purpose. According to the producer the team keeps a majority of things in house and only leak what they want to leak. We also get a tour of the studio that housed so many chart-topping songs and the reason why artists feel comfortable due to the “creative environment” they create. 40 also humbly brags about making the atmosphere producer-friendly by easily letting beatsmiths plug in their laptops and having full access to all the sounds/equipment in the studio.
When speaking on Drake he says, “When it comes to Drake, my objective is to make the artist the number one priority at any cost,” 40 states. “My goal is to make them happy.”
For all the production nerds, you guys will truly appreciate the insight 40 delivers in this video.
