I have a feeling that the trade deadline won’t be as hectic as it has been in past years. The middle pack is so large this year I don’t think many teams will want to risk their stability with a trade or two. For both conferences there are 9 or 10 teams with a chance for Playoff basketball and with some teams wanting to make the Playoffs I don’t think many teams want to bit the bullet.
One particular player that feels this way is Orlando Magic’s Nikola Vucevic who has urged to his team not to do anything.
“That’s no reason to think we need to change anything. We have to find a way within each other to get back to what we were doing early in the year,” Vucevic said. “We just got to find a way to get out of this [slump].
“Trades or whatever … I don’t think about that — that’s not my job — and I never will.“
Now the Orlando Magic look good for the future. They have a good core, they just need to build up on that core and I don’t think they have anybody worthy for a trade so I agree with Vucevic entirely, they have no reason to risk it.
