The reigning queen of Hip-Hop has had her name on everyone’s tongues over the course of the past year. From her controversial hit, ‘Anaconda’, to her relationship with Meek Mill, Onika Maraj hasn’t lacked any sort of publicity. Even after blatantly calling out MTV and other voting committees for the lack of acknowledging black women’s contributions to Pop culture, MTV still wanted Nicki to hold the coveted spot of opening the VMAs. Bringing Carnival to the VMAs, Nicki brought her culture and the sexy to all with her performance of ‘Trini Dem Girls’ from her The Pinkprint album.
