The past two weeks have been nothing short of wild for New York’s own Nicki Minaj. From dropping her album a week early to engaging in a back and forth with DJ Self, Nicki Minaj has had no trouble finding her way into the headlines lately. Most recently, Minaj found her way into drama with a Twitter rant on Sunday night. After learning that Travis Scott would return to the number one spot on the Billboard Chart, the Queen rapper took to Twitter air out some grievances that she had with the music industry. Minaj went as far as to say that Travis knew he didn’t have the number one album in the country this week. These actions drew criticism across the music industry and earned her the coveted title of “Donkey of the Day”.
Tonight, Minaj turned attention back to the music on her latest album. Minaj put on an incredible performance at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards. Performing cuts off of her newest project, Minaj definitely had one of the most energetic and well-executed performances of the night.
