As NHL 15 gets ready to make its next-gen debut, producer Sean Ramjagsingh has revealed that a few modes that’ll continue on last-gen consoles will not not be making their debut on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. As of 9/9, NHL’s launch date; ‘Play Now’, ‘Be A Pro’ ,’Be A GM’, ‘Online Versus’, ‘Hockey Ultimate Team’ and ‘NHL Moments Live’ will be available for next-gen users. In the official blog on NHL’s section on EA’s Site, Sean let it be known that they’ll be working to make 15 better post launch with additional DLC. Sean reveals that ‘Online Team Play’ will be a post launch downloadable while ‘EA Sports Hockey League’ will not be making it’s debut.
As a franchise, we’re 100% committed to the EA SPORTS Hockey League. While we can’t deliver EASHL in NHL 15 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, we have huge plans for the mode in future iterations of the game. We will be putting together a small EASHL committee made up of you, the fans, to ensure that we deliver an experience that is bigger and better than any of us would have imagined when we first introduced the feature in NHL 09.
Decisions like this are never easy, nor do we take them lightly. We know that there is a passionate group of fans that loves these modes and is no doubt disappointed with this news; but we also know that this same group of fans expects a high quality gameplay experience above anything else. We’re a franchise built on quality, so launching these modes without confidence in their quality wasn’t something that we were willing to do.
The few modes that will not be making their way to next-gen NHL 15 are ‘Live The Life’, ‘GM Connected’, ‘NHL 94 Anniversary Mode’ & ‘NHL Moments Live’.

Live the Life

As a player, perform on the ice and play within your coaches system and you’ll be rewarded with more ice time and praise. Off the ice, you’ll answer interview questions, interact with fans, accept endorsement deals, and much more. Just like in reality, each decision comes with a price – how will you shape your career?
NHL® Moments Live
NHL® Moments Live lets you relive, recreate or alter some of the most exciting moments from the current and past NHL season. Complete each moment to earn coins that can be used in Hockey Ultimate Team. Moments will be updated where and when available throughout the 2014-15 NHL season.
