The New York Knicks President Steve Mills and General Manager Scott Perry called for an ‘impromptu’ press conference where they shared the front office discontent with the team’s start of the season and the lack of effort and consistency during the games.

The press conference took place after the Knicks home loss 108-87 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday which gave the Knicks a 2-8 record that puts them at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. The team only wins came against the Dallas Mavericks and the Chicago Bulls.
Despite reports from Adrian Wojnarowski and Malika Andrews from ESPN, Mills might be laying the ground to fire the Knicks head coach David Fizdale but he said that the front office believes in Fitzdale and the players’ abilities.
“We have patience and we believe in coach and we believe in the group that we put together. But, we also know that we need to find a way to have a consistent level of effort and execution that has to pull itself together. It’s not a good look for us to play well in two quarters and play poorly for two other quarters. What we have to do is find a way to play consistent basketball and we believe in this group and we believe they are capable of doing in it, we just need to find a way to get them there.”
Fizdale is starting the second year of his 4-year deal with the team. On Monday, he talked with the media on Monday’s team practice and said that he feels the support from the front office.
