It’s been over 2 years since Miguel released his last album, Kaleidoscope Dream. Since then, he has enjoyed the success of the album which spawned hit singles ‘Adorn’ and ‘How Many Drinks?’. For the past year, Miguel has been steadily working on his 3rd studio album and now we have some further details regarding the project from RCA exec, Mark Pitts. Here’s what he had to say in an interview with Billboard:
We’re 90 percent done. Its working title is Wild Heart and we’re talking second quarter. He’s more confident, and it’s going to show in the music, his look and in the videos. Miguel is ready to push the button. His first album was about trials and tribulations. The second was OK, we’re here; I wasn’t bugging. And now it’s here we go. He wants people to understand who he is. He’s tired of people asking who are you, what’s that, do you like girls?” He tells me, “I want everyone to know I am wild, funny, edgy and love women. I need this album to connect.”
From the sounds of things, Wild Heart is shaping up to be not only a turning point for Miguel, but also a revealing album for the R&B crooner. Late last year, he released a free EP on Soundcloud. If the 2nd quarter time-frame holds, we could have this album anywhere between April through June. t’ll be interesting to see if the album’s sound reflects on that of the tracks featured on that EP. Nevertheless, we’re excited for Miguel’s return.
