Netflix has been going through some turbulent times these past couple of months, especially losing the rights to Disney and Star Wars content. However, with promise to make more of their own content for their illustrious movie and TV series catalogue, Netflix has not faltered. Since it first begun it’s plan in 2013, Netflix has slowly made Original content and original movies one of the fan-favourites in Netflix. People always look forward to seeing what kind of original content Netflix can create each month and the system keeps working. While they’ve managed to get big name producers and stars to back up some of their productions, but even the smaller budget movies will be films to look out for in the future.
Just in time for the Halloween festivities in October, ‘The Babysitter’ is about a young boy who falls in love with his babysitter who ends up wanting to actually kill the poor kid. I know that just by that sentence, some people are already reluctant to give this movie a try but you’ll be surprised. This looks like a movie that this generations horror movie-goers would enjoy, with it’s classic horror nods and cast of comedic actors, this should be something to at least watch for Halloween.

Netflix unveiled The Babysitter trailer [above], along with the film’s funny tagline: “human sacrifice with hot people.” The official logline for the movie reads: “The Babysitter follows a lonely, 12-year-old boy who falls in love with his hot babysitter only to discover that she’s part of a satanic cult that wants to kill him.” Directed by McG from a screenplay by Brian Duffield (Insurgent), The Babysitter stars Samara Weaving (Monster Trucks), Bella Thorne (The DUFF), Robbie Amell (The Flash), Andrew Bachelor (We Are Your Friends), Hana Mae Lee (Pitch Perfect), and Judah Lewis (Demolition).
