Netflix is no stranger to profiling the world’s most iconic musicians through film. In the past, the streaming platform has hosted documentaries chronicling the lives of Sam Cooke, The Notorious B.I.G and several others. Most recently, the streaming platform acquired a documentary looking deeper into the life of Omari Kanye West. However, the streaming giant has strayed away from putting together biopics following the lives of successful music acts. In the near future, that could all change.
According to Deadline, Netflix is closing in on a deal that could bring a Kiss biopic to the streaming service. The report indicates that the film, Shout It Out Loud, seeks to “do for the iconic hard rock band KISS what Bohemian Rhapsody did for Queen.” Thus far, Ole Sanders is set to write the film’s script. Sanders has experience working on shorts following the career for Madonna. Joining Sanders, Mark Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment and Universal Music Group are expected to guide production. Not to mention, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss will have a hand in the film’s production.
At this time, nothing has been finalized. However, it does seem apparent that the film will be made regardless if it lands at Netflix or another studio. Stay tuned for more details as this deal develops.
