The Arkansas native who brought us iconic records like “Irreplaceable”, “So Sick” and “Sexy Love” is back with his first album since 2015. Ne-Yo’s Good Man was not supposed to be released until late August, but he’s decided that June would be the perfect month for him to deliver his newest offering. The thirty-eight year old singer, songwriter dropped off twenty new records that include guest appearances from Romeo Santos, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Eric Bellinger, Sam Hook, Steflon Don, Bebe Rexha and Stefflon Don. The project also includes star studded production from Camper, J. Hill, Tae Runo and more.
Prior the release of the album, Ne-Yo told Ebony, “This album is kind of a lead by example in regards to what it is to be a good husband to your wife, a good boyfriend to your girlfriend, a good brother to your brother and just a good guy to the world.” Ne-Yo also added, “I feel like we’re right on time with this album because, you know, with sexual harassment case[s] here and rape charge[s] there, I feel like it is time for us as men to be reminded what it is that we’re supposed to do in regard to these women and how we’re supposed to respect them and treat them.”
Ne-Yo’s Good Man definitely provides records that set a good example for how a man is supposed to treat a woman. Records like “Good Man”, “U Deserve” and “Without U” accomplish Ne-Yo’s goal and then some. Ne-Yo also provides summer feel good records like “Summertime” as well.
