It has certainly been a long time coming for American Idol winner, Kelly Clarkson. Since breaking on to the scene in 2002, Clarkson has released eight studio albums and toured the world multiple times. With her musical legacy solidified, Clarkson is looking to move into television as she turns to the next phase of her career.
Clarkson is looking to make a splash as she moves into television spotlight. NBC Universal has announced that Kelly Clarkson will lead a one-hour talk show next fall called The Kelly Clarkson Show. The one-hour talk show will take the place of Steve Harvey’s Steve. After a seven-season run with the network, it is unclear where Steve will go from here but IMG Original Content is believed to be interested in continuing to produce the show.
Paul Telegdy celebrated the announcement of the new show by saying, “The incomparable Kelly Clarkson takes everything she touches to another level and we couldn’t be happier to bring her talent, humor, generosity, and compassion to daytime next year.” Telegdy added, “With Kelly’s cross-generational appeal and extraordinary ability to understand and connect with viewers, The Kelly Clarkson Show will have something for everyone.”
Clarkson echoed Telegdy statements by saying, “I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations.” Clarkson later said, “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!”
