That triple-double was awesome, huh?
Well, enjoy it while you can because it’s officially been rescinded by the NBA and it is no longer considered a triple-double.

An official review by the NBA has determined that Russell Westbrook had nine rebounds Sunday against Miami. It takes away his triple-double.

Somewhere hidden in that amazing video of what was Russell Westbrook’s 10th triple-double of the season, the NBA found that Westbrook did not come down with one of his rebounds. ESPN already changed the box score from yesterday’s Thunder victory over the Miami Heat.
That was quick.
Well, Russell Westbrook’s line from that night officially reads, 12 points, 17 assists and 9 rebounds. It’s a shame but Westbrook is back down to 9 triple-doubles for the season.
Either way, it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things and I imagine Westbrook isn’t losing sleep over losing his one rebound. He’s the type of player that doesn’t care about the trivial stats and things of that nature. He’s all about helping the team win, whatever it takes. It was showcased yesterday when he only scored 12 points but he did tie his career-high with 17 assists and led recent Thunder standout Enes Kanter dominate the scoring for the night.
