Chris Bosh is reportedly not at all happy with the way that the Miami Heat have treated him. Bosh has been kept out of many games due to his life-threatening blood clots.
The two parties are at odds over this issue, and now the NBA may get involved, reports Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinal :
What could set up as another standoff between forward Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat is now expected to have at least one more party in play, with the NBA itself anticipated to become part of the process.
With Bosh missing the second half of each of the past two seasons due to blood clots, and with the Heat and Bosh having agreed during the 2016 playoffs to table a decision on a potential return, multiple parties familiar with the process have told the Sun Sentinel that they expect the NBA to have input on any plan going forward.
A return by Bosh would have implications beyond his medical status, including an impact on the Heat’s salary cap and possible salary-cap relief.
…
“This is going to come to a head at some point,” a party familiar with the situation said of league involvement.
…Neither the Heat nor Bosh’s representation have commented on the forward’s situation since Bosh offered a social-media video statement of, “I know I’ve been gone for a moment, but now I’m back. Everybody is always asking me am I hooping? Yes, I’m hooping. Absolutely. I’m a hooper.”
The Heat open training camp Sept 27, with players required to pass physicals in advance.
Bosh wants to — and believes that he is ready to — play. The Heat have their doubts, and would much rather be safe than sorry when it comes to Bosh’s health.
