Who’s ready for more news about the dysfunction surrounding the New York Knicks? The Knicks have been a mess this season (and pretty much every season before that) with rumors swirling around Carmelo Anthony’s future in NY and Phil Jackson’s public statements about his star player.
Jackson’s tenure in New York has gone anything but smoothly. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that other executives have taken notice of Jackson’s shall we say interesting decisions.

This isn’t surprising but it is jarring to hear it reported anyway. Jackson’s reputation within the league has taken a sharp dive since accepting the job as president of the Knicks.
There are two potential results from this reputation. Opposing GM’s will either look away from the Knicks and prefer to not conduct any business with Jackson. The more probable result, as I see it, is that other teams will try to take advantage of New York’s mismanagement. Every team should be trying to swindle Phil Jackson in trades and get the few assets the Knicks have on the cheap. Whether that means some team will find it in them to risk a trade for Melo is a fair question to ask at this point.
