Nate Robinson hasn’t been in the NBA since he played a two-game long stint with the New Orleans Pelicans early last season. After those two games, in which Robinson played 24 total minutes and didn’t score, the point guard was waived. At age 32, Robinson (assuming he’s in decent shape) is likely still a player capable of having a solid impact off the bench. The Cleveland Cavaliers (and LeBron James) know that they need a backup point guard. So why haven’t the two parties discussed a contract? Robinson isn’t sure, but he believes that he is not liked by the team, he tells Robert Marshall of Hype Beast:
Yeah, but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t hit me up. I don’t know why they don’t like me, man. I’m the most hated.
Robinson is just five-foot-nine, but has proven that he can be an effective NBA player. Over the course of his 11-year career, the journeyman point guard has played with the New York Knicks, Boston Celtics, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Clippers, and New Orleans Pelicans.
Other potential candidates to play point guard for the Cavs include Mario Chalmers, Norris Cole, and Jarrett Jack.
