If you listen to the content Ab-Soul releases you would more than likely align with him with being “woke”. Not shy with addressing several topics whatsoever, his latest project that released in 2016, ‘DWTW’ (Do What Thou Wilt) did just that.
To support the project we have already seen a couple of videos release; D.R.U.G.S, RAW (Backwards) and Womanogamy. By the titles it is obvious the direction Soulo is/was going in with is videos as well as his album if you guys aren’t familiar yet. Moving forward, the latest visual which can be viewed below is for ‘Evil Genius’.
‘Evil Genius’ is a record that depicts the need to move forward in life and getting through the many tough times that will be present itself to anyone that can relate. As you find out in his GQ interview the album is a woman-appreciation album and this specific video/song is an indicator of how to get over a situation when tragedy strikes. If you weren’t aware, Ab-Soul’s childhood home which is in the video recently burned down and this song/video is really in honor of his girlfriend Alori Joh who committed suicide in 2012.
