This is probably the most disappointing news I’ve heard in a while.
Matthew Vaughn, the director of X-Men: First Class, won’t be returning to direct the sequel.
What even more worrisome is that the person who may replace him is Bryan Singer, director of the first two X-Men movies. Don’t get me wrong, I loved those films, but I really, really love how refreshing Vaughn’s take on “First Class” was. With Singer, I’m afraid audiences will be seeing more of the same things we’ve already seen.
X-Men: Days Of Future Past is set to open in theaters on July 18, 2013.
