The political commentary team at CNN has gotten a bit larger. Recently, the 24-hours news network added former U.S. Representative Mondaire Jones as an on-air commentator.
Mondaire Jones is one of only two openly gay Black politicians to serve in Congress. While on Capitol Hill, Jones worked on the House Judiciary, Education and Labor, and Ethics Committees. Not to be forgotten, he also served as the Deputy Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and Co-Chair of the LGBTQ Equality Caucus.
Beyond his political work, Jones also has a background in law and justice. Previously, he worked in the Westchester County Attorney’s Office and the Department of Justice. Adding on, he also served on the NAACP’s National Board of Directors and New York Civil Liberties Union board.
Given his deep background in the city of New York, CNN has based the former lawmaker at their studio in their Big Apple studio.
