The Milwaukee Bucks have been a bit of a disappointment this season. Their lack of spacing combined with their lack of interior defense has resulted in a 30-44 record. One part of their first problem — lack of spacing — is point guard Michael Carter-Williams. Well, Carter-Williams won’t retain his starting spot next season, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
Bucks coach Jason Kidd said Giannis Antetokounmpo will be the team’s point guard heading into next season.

Starting the Greek Freak at point won’t help their spacing, but it should help all-around. Giannis is such a unique player in his ridiculous ability to run the point at 6’11”. He’s nearly unstoppable on the fast break due to his absurd length and athleticism combined with his solid passing sense. The best part of it is he has so much time to get even better; he’s only 21 years old!
In Antetokounmpo’s third year in the league, he has averaged 16.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 1.2 steals while shooting 50.4% from the field in 35.2 minutes per game. All of those stats are career-highs for him.
This season has seen Antetokounmpo transform some of his potential into actual ability, and it’s been a joy to see. Obviously, the next step for Giannis is improving his spacing; he’s shooting just 19.8% from 3-point range on the season. Improving his free throw shooting should be a priority as well. His mark of 72.7% from the line could be worse, but it isn’t ideal.
