So far for the Atlanta Hawks, trading Dwight Howard earlier on in the offseason is beginning to look like a regrettable move. While his chemistry with his Atlanta teammates was rocky to say the least, he brought a lot of the attributes you look for in an interior anchor something Atlanta is sorely missing. Not only that, but the package they got in return for Howard from the Charlotte Hornets has been a disaster so far.
Journeyman big Miles Plumlee was one of the assets received in exchange for Howard and he’s had one of the rougher offseasons out of any NBA player. Plumlee recently ran into legal troubles in New York and now an injury will make his uncertain future even cloudier.
The Hawks announced via their Twitter account that they expect Miles Plumlee to be sidelined for 2-3 weeks with what they’re calling a right quad injury:

With the given 2-3 week timetable, Plumlee would be forced to sit out likely through the opening week of regular season games, a crusher to the start of his career as a Hawk.
However, Plumlee has bigger fish to fry with his ongoing case for the possession of marijuana. Now having to overcome two obstacles before even playing a minute in Atlanta, Plumlee will try to do everything in his power to get his body back to full health and keep his name out of the news for all the wrong reasons.
Once a valued contributor, Plumlee has seen his value fall off immensely since his impressive rookie year with the Phoenix Suns. Plumlee is coming off a paltry season with the Milwaukee Bucks in which he posted per game averages of 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds.
