If you’ve been in and around a movie theater within the last three months, you know him as Preacher Boy or Samuel “Sammie” Moore. However, when he’s not on set or gearing up for an Oscars campaign, most people know him as Miles Caton, the former Little Big Shots standout, or the Brooklyn boy from a musically gifted family. On Friday, August 1, 2025, Caton added to the growing legend of his name and talent with a new single called “Somethin’.”
Co-written with Liana Banks, the latest single from the actor-musician finds the 20-year-old pouring his heart out as he attempts to repair a relationship that may be past its expiration. Still, Caton pleads and yearns for another opportunity to make things right or even start over.
“Right from wrong is always my thought/Now that me and you are no more/Summer days and nights on the phone/By my side is where you belong,” he sings. “And I know you feel a way/You say that you don’t/But I know that you do do/And my pride has gone away/I think we still got some fight/So girl let’s make it right right.”
The emotion and sincerity of Caton’s stand out in this mid-summer single. Venturing away from the world that Ryan Coogler built through Sinners, “Somethin'” allows the listener to see Caton not as a character, but for what he is — a multi-hyphenate talent with a distinct voice, immense talent, and an opportunity to become one of the leaders of the next crop of R&B and Soul artists.
