The NFL has suspended Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans for his actions on the sideline during the Saints, Buccaneers fight. The NFL handed this down Monday afternoon and released the following statement per Michael Signora VP of Football Communications.

The suspension wasn’t that big of a surprise given the nature of the hit. The altercation started with Jameis Winston and Marshon Lattimore exchanging words, once Lattimore shoved Winston, Evans runs in screen to hit Lattimore. Evans was seen heading toward the locker room until he realized he wasn’t ejected, just penalized.
Sean Payton was upset and thought an ejection was necessary. “If there’s not an ejection in that situation then I don’t know when there’s supposed to be an ejection,” Payton told reporters following the game. Evans later apologized for the hit.
You can see the altercation as well as the hit below.
Mike Evans should be ejected for this cheap shot. Totally uncalled for. He’s a Captain! Captains don’t do this. #Bucs #TBvsNO @gregauman pic.twitter.com/vranBBn9Cp
