For years, fans of Courtney Kemp and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s Power universe have watched Tariq St. Patrick and Brayden Weston join forces to launch their own money laundering businesses. Now, it appears that the actors who portray both characters will launch their own joint venture. Deadline reports that Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo will launch a join production company known as Twenty Two Entertainment. Through the imprint, Rainey Jr. and Paolo will produce television series, films and more. The newly-launched production will be fully funded by Artists For Artists, a venture created by Kenan Thompson and John Ryan Jr.
Michael Rainey Jr. and Gianni Paolo are preparing to release their first project through Twenty Two Entertainment — a podcast called The Crew Has It. As described in the initial report, the two actors will “discuss the Power universe and the entertainment industry, and interview cast and filmmakers from the Starz series as well as hip hop, R&B artists and actors.”
“Over the last couple of years, I’ve watched Gianni and Michael transition from actors to brands. They have their finger on the pulse of entertainment and pop culture. Kenan and I built Artists For Artists to support hard-working creators like Gianni and Michael,” Ryan Jr. told Deadline.
“We look forward to sharing their dynamic slate of entertainment.”
In addition to launching The Crew Has It, Paolo and Rainey Jr. are also currently filming the upcoming season of Power Book II: Ghost. The third season of the spin-off series is set to debut later this year with Rainey Jr., Paolo, Mary J. Blige, Method Man, Woody McClain, Alex Lapri and others. Stay tuned for an official release date.
