The Mets contest with the New York Yankees set for this weekend has been postponed as today’s, tomorrow’s, and Sunday’s games have been postponed. It was noted that this was done as an abundance of caution and to offer time for more testing to give players and members of the organization the all-clear.
It is still an unsettling situation and sucks that yet another team is dealing with an outbreak, even if it is a minute one compared to the outbreak of the Miami Marlins. It has also been noted that the outbreak was not believed to be a break in protocol.
The Mets now join a growing list of teams to experience a COVID-19 outbreak, which shows how this 2020 season has been quite difficult for organizations.
At one time, it seemed that the Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals were going to struggle to get back on the field, but both teams have pulled it off, and before the series with the Mets, the Marlins looked pretty impressive. They may have dropped three with the Mets but have won some other unlikely games.
