Metro Boomin’s latest series of tweets has fans thinking a third Savage Mode tape could be in the works.
On Wednesday, June 5, the St. Louis native shared a video of himself playing a beat he recently made. After hearing the beat, one person replied, “I ain’t gonna hold you. This sound[s] like Savage Mode III.” In response, the super producer simply sent a few eye emojis and as expected, it got fans in an uproar.
“Please give us Savage Mode 3. It will change lives,” one reply reads.
“No way bro. Please drop this,” another reply reads.
Metro Boomin’ and 21 Savage released Savage Mode II in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic on October 2, 2020. Complete with narration from Morgan Freeman and features from Drake, Young Thug and Young. Nudy, the album debuted atop the Billboard 200 Chart and eventually went Gold. While the dynamic duo did promise to release a follow-up project, both men have elected to focus on different projects for the time being. Since then, 21 Savage has released American Dream, Her Loss with Drake and the Spiral soundtrack. Meanwhile, Metro Boomin’ has produced the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack, his solo album and two joint albums with Future.
Recently, fans have speculated how the two would work together in the future given 21 Savage’s friendship with both Drake and Metro Boomin’ amid their feud. However, 21 Savage has maintained a level of neutrality and suggested the two men would eventually work through their difference. It’s unclear when that may happen, but what is seemingly clear is that Savage Mode III is on the way in some way, shape or form.
