Metal Gear, one of the two games I’ve yet the opportunity to sit with out of Hideo’s iconic Metal Gear series. Metal Gear for those that don’t know was Solid Snake’s introduction to the world, his first mission where he has to take out Big Boss and Outer Haven. Now with The Phantom Pain coming and the gamer taking on Big Boss building Outer Haven, it would have been good to play a remake of the original Metal Gear.
A spokesperson for the studio responsible for the remake said “Konami couldn’t agree on a decision so they had no choice, but to shut us down”. Although Konami shut this remake down, hopefully with Hideo wanting to remake past Metal Gear Solid’s with the fox engine, Metal Gear will make it’s way to next-gen systems. The studio even had David Hayter to do the Snake voice overs.
