Matthew Dellavedova has been an unsung hero for the Cleveland Cavaliers. His effort on defense against Stephen Curry and his offensive help to LeBron James has helped them carry the load of Kyrie Irving. Now the Cavaliers lead the series 2-1, and they have a chance to take full control of this series in Game 4, they need Dellavedova. Dellavedova was rushed to a hospital after his impressive performance in Game 3 with cramps and was released earlier today.
According to Sean Highkin of Probasketballtalk:
“We’re doing a lot of things and trying to tick all the boxes in terms of hydration and nutrition and different forms of recovery,” Dellavedova said. “So it’s something the training staff are talking to me about. Right now it’s just getting as much fluids in as you can and just trying to eat a lot.
“I was [at the hospital] for a little bit, but mainly just to rest up and recover. We all take it pretty easy today just to get our treatment, and we’ve watched tape and things like that. So, yeah, I’ll be ready to go tomorrow.”
There is no doubt that Dellavedova’s efforts will be needed in their Game 4 battle with the Warriors. Dellavedova has been a true factor in stopping Stephen Curry the MVP of this league and both Blatt and LeBron have praised Delly because of it. If Delly isn’t healthy the Cavaliers will be in more trouble.
