You get a biopic. I get a biopic. Everyone gets a biopic. Could it be that having your life’s story potentially told across the big screen is the new trend? With the massive anticipation that surrounded Straight Outta Compton before it’s launch this past weekend, it looks like Master P is ready to join the bandwagon as he’s set to self-produce a biopic about his life. With the current title of, Ice Cream Man: King of the South.
With the tentative release for Spring of 2016, personally, I’m not sure what to make of this. Not to credit Master P’s story, because I am sure there are some interesting aspects that haven’t been told, but many will be left thinking if there’s a demand for a biopic from the rapper. Stranger things have happened, so this could actually be a success for the No Limit Records founder. For now, while some remain puzzled by this announcement and some are filled with excitement, check out the trailer to Ice Cream Man: King of the South, above.
