Adam Levine and Maroon 5 are reportedly in talks to perform at this years upcoming Super Bowl 50 halftime according to E! Online. This is contrary to early reports from Billboard back in September that Bruno Mars would be returning to the big stage to orchestrate a show from multiple artists. Chris Martin and Coldplay are also another group that have their name in the running to perform on February 7th at Levi’s Stadium, home of the San Francisco 49’ers.
The Super Bowl is perennially the most-watched television event of the year, as Perry’s Super Bowl performance drew 121 million viewers, the highest viewership for the halftime special according to Nielsen. Mars’ performance brought in 115 million, the second highest.
Reps for the NFL and Maroon 5 have not returned E! News request for comment regarding the potential Super Bowl performance
