Marlon Wayans will reportedly star in GOAT, a psychological sports thriller from Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. Directed by Justin Tipping, the feature follows the story of “an up-and-coming young athlete who is invited to train with a team’s retiring star.”
Marlon Wayans is one member of the legendary Wayans family, who kicked off his career in 1988 as part of the I’m Gonna Git You Sucka cast. In recent years, he’s managed to successfully balance both his film and television endeavors. He played the role of Will’s estranged father in Bel-Air, guest hosted The Daily Show and headlined his own comedy special for MAX. On the big screen, he recently appeared in Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s Air, the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect and The Curse On Bridge Hollow. He’s also the host of his own show called Oh Hell No! with Marlon Wayans.
Wayans’ upcoming venture adds to the growing portfolio Monkeypaw Productions. Since Get Out debuted in theaters, Peele and company have developed a number of projects, including Prime Video’s Hunters, HBO’s Lovecraft Country, Nope, Us and Honk for Jesus, Save Your Soul.
