Following initial reports of Morris missing time, the Wizards confirmed the injury.
The injury Morris sustained initially occurred in the December 16th match-up between the Wizards and the Los Angeles Lakers and was reaggravated ten days later against the Detroit Pistons.
The news of Morris being out for the coming weeks brings more uncertainty to a Washington roster that has recently lost John Wall to season-ending heel surgery, and has seen recent roster moves following the trade for Trevor Ariza that saw Austin Rivers and Kelly Oubre Jr. depart the team.
Through 34 games in his eighth NBA season, Markieff Morris has averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds on 26 minutes per game.
