The Knicks have had more downs than ups this season but if there was one positive, it’d be how well the rookie Willy Hernangomez has developed. The Knicks have a very young and promising European backcourt in Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez which could look appealing to rookies, especially point guards. That and playing in the Mecca of basketball along with some great fans who will have their back through both turmoil and success. Those fans have experienced it all and things can only improve going forward.
Markelle Fultz was at the Raptors-Knicks game today at Madison Square Garden and got to witness the Knicks’ offense in person. When asked about playing for the Knicks, Fultz said,
“It would be amazing. It’s close to home. My family can come out and this is the greatest place to play really in New York, big stadium, a lot of good fans.”
Fultz was also asked about how he thinks he could fit in the Triangle offense and he said he could “play in any system” and this would be due to his versatility. He actually enjoyed watching the Triangle offense up close in person. Unfortunately, percentage wise in the lottery ranking, the Knicks are currently sixth. Drafting Fultz is extremely unlikely due to their 6% chance of winning the draft lottery, but we’ve seen improbable things occur before.
