Mark Ruffalo is reportedly preparing to return as Bruce Banner, otherwise known as The Incredible Hulk, for the fourth Spider-Man film under the MCU banner — Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Joining Ruffalo, Michael Mando is expected to reprise his role as Scorpion, which he played back in 2017 during Spider-Man: Homecoming. Rounding out the cast, Jon Bernthal is set to return as The Punisher and Tom Holland will return as Spider-Man.
Earlier this week, Marvel unveiled the first look at Spider-Man’s signature suit for the newest installment of the franchise. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland will work with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton to kick off the next chapter of the Spider-Man story. To get the job done, Holland says he and Cretton will lean into “old-school filmmaking” methods.
“Now, we’re really gonna lean into that old-school filmmaking and shoot in real locations, which is why we’re starting in Glasgow and we’re gonna use the streets of Glasgow to build this massive set-piece that we’re putting together,” he told Deadline. “So it’s gonna feel like making [2017’s] Spider-Man 1 again. It’s been such a long time since I’ve done it, it’s gonna feel like a breath of fresh air, and I think the fans are going to be over the moon with what we’re putting together.”
The fans will be able to see what Holland, Cretton and company have been putting together when Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026.
