The Dallas Mavericks have a 1.7% chance to land the number one overall pick. The 9th best in the NBA. One of the prospects that will be considered at the top of the draft is the oft-talked about, Lonzo Ball. His dad is nearly as talked about his him, however.
This has led many to wonder whether this may give some team executive second thoughts about drafting the young guard. Although the Mavs have a slim chance at landing him, Mark Cuban seems to not mind the talkative father.
According to Mike Fisher of scout.com,the Mavericks owner even has an appreciation for Lavar Ball.
“I’m kind of liking his dad, he is an entrepreneur. He is creating a company from scratch, which isn’t ever easy. I like it.”
“What (LaVar Ball) has really done is gone from ‘concept’ to ‘product’ to trying to generate sales and trying to be profitable,”
“This country can never have enough entrepreneurs. I think it’s great!”
The billionaire entrepreneur is well known for his admiration for other people of his craft. His show, “Shark Tank”, is centered around that very admiration. If the Mavericks got the chance, it looks like Lavar wouldn’t stop Cuban from drafting Lonzo.
