Primary Ocasio Cortez, New York, USA – 27 Jun 2018
Since being elected as a state representative for the state of New York, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been in the headlines regularly for her outspoken nature and ability to spark change in the minds of young voters. In recent months, she’s offered more radical ways of ending mass incarceration, improving the education system and much more. More recently, the young politician has been in the headlines for a more fun loving video of her dancing and bringing her entire family to her swearing in ceremony. With that being said, she’s still dealing with the muck that plagues much of Capitol Hill.

Recently, the New York native offered a criticism of Representative Steve Scalise and his alleged relationship with big businesses. In a tweet, she wrote, “You’re the GOP Minority Whip. How do you not know how marginal tax rates work? Oh, that’s right, [I] almost forgot. [The] GOP works for the corporate CEOs showering themselves in multi-million [dollar] bonuses.” In response, Shark Tank host, Mark Cuban, tweeted, “Be a radical. Be different. Be a change leader. Innovate. It’s your generation’s turn to govern. Go for it, built please leave our bad habit of using partisan language…behind.” After facing criticism, Cuban returned to Twitter to clarify his comments. Cuban went on to say that the next generation of politicians should avoid the rhetoric of the past and move towards a more unified front.
My point is that right now Pelosi=Mccarthy=Schumer=McConnell=all the same. Now would be a great time for the new generation of politicians, across the board, to take a new approach. We need you to represent us all. The partisan approach doesn’t work https://t.co/zvWtlsm4hQ
