The first round pick for the Boston Celtics in this past season’s NBA draft may be slated to start at point guard to open the Celtics season, if Rajon Rondo isn’t healthy to start. The rookie Oklahoma State Cowboy product has a diverse skill set that brings a lot of versatility to the Celtics.

Rondo has a broken hand and according to coach Brad Stevens, Marcus Smart may be the choice at point guard for the C’s.
This is according to the Celtics official twitter account.
Marcus Smart will start at point guard on Opening Night if Rajon Rondo cannot play, according to Brad Stevens.

The best player for the Celtics needs to be on the court as much as possible if the Celtics stand any chance this season. Rondo will need to healthy and fast if he wants the C’s to start off to a good start. A rookie leading the helm for the Celtics may not be the most popular choice amongst NBA teams, but why not give Smart a chance.
