Alright Marcus, we get it. You took offence to being traded to the Pistons. I get why you were miffed. But really? Still taking digs? Move on man.
A few months has passed since the trade that included Marcus Morris. Which is more than enough time for Morris to get used to living in the D and also relish in the fact that he’s part of a better team!
But no, he goes to Pistons media day and talks about, you guessed it! The Phoenix Suns, but not the organisation as a whole, he’s gone very specific. He took a shot at PJ Tucker who rightly overtook Morris in the roster.
In Phoenix, I thought I should have started at the three. The guy that’s there now (P.J. Tucker) might have been a better defender, but as an all-around three, I thought I was the best we had. And I thought a lot of players thought that, too.
Now why do you think Tucker overtook Morris? Defensive presence of course! When you hear Marcus Morris, d’you think ‘block machine’? Of course not. You don’t hear that with Tucker either but he’s better on that side of the floor than Marcus. And when you looked at the Suns last year, you could tell they were lacking on the defensive side. Tucker was put into the starting line-up and results were much better.
Sorry Marcus, but you’re wrong on this one. Don’t you have a starting job to fight for? May want to get on that.
