On the evening of January 19, 2019, the life and career of Marcus Browne would change forever. After decades of training as an amateur and professional, the New York-born fighter achieved his lifelong goal of becoming a world champion. Brown bested veteran Jean Pascal in a 12-round battle for the interim WBA Light Heavyweight Championship. Unfortunately, his time in the limelight was cut short when his first title defense came to an end with an eighth-round technical decision loss. He rebounded with a win against Denis Grachev before losing a title fight to Artur Beterbiev in December 2021. After spending more than 18 months out of the ring with various domestic legal issues, the New Jersey native has returned and he’s looking to fight his way back into the title picture.
Marcus Browne traveled down to the state of Maryland for his cruiserweight debut. In his first 200-pound contest, he challenged Adrian Taylor, a Dallas-born fighter with a record of 13-1-1. Browne dominated the Dallas native with his jab throughout en route to a unanimous decision. In a cruiserweight division that is largely overlooked, Browne is another fighter on the hunt for a world title.
100-90, 99-91, 100-90 for Marcus Browne. It's a good tough fight for Browne. We will see what's next for him at cruiserweight. #RodriguezLopez
