The Memphis Grizzlies have been on a downward spiral since starting point guard Mike Conely went down with an injury. During their recent double-digit losing streak the team elected to fire head coach David Fizdale, Marc Gasol had to defend his honor against those calling him a coach killer and majority owner Robert Pera has a decision to make on his future with the team. Not a great holiday season for the Grizzlies.
But things took a turn in the right direction for Memphis after they came away with a home win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gasol led the charge by scoring 21 points, grabbing seven rebounds and handing out five assists in 35 minutes. After the game, Gasol expressed how happy he was about the win by saying ‘We won, so f*ck it.’ His excitement will cost him $15,000 for cursing on live television.
