Eric Holder enter not guilty plea on murder and attempted murder charges in the shooting leading to the death of Nipsey Hussle.
The Associated Press reports, Holder held on $5 million bail, only spoke to tell the judge “yeah” during the courtroom appearance. Holder faces murder charges as well as attempted murder charges for the death of Nipsey Hussle and the shooting of two unnamed victims.
Nipsey Hussle’s murder shocked the world beyond Hip-Hop. Fans old and new across the globe celebrate the legacy left behind promoting community and hard-work. The high profile case seemingly swiftly moves across the justice system. Holder’s attorney Christopher Darden however has relevant experience.
Christopher Darden’s claim to fame comes from the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. Darden served as a member of the prosecution team during the murder case against Simpson. Darden argues the case against Holder should not allow media outlets in the courtroom.
Judge Teresa Sullivan denied the request, citing Holder’s picture image already widely spread, as reasoning. Authorities allege Holder knew Hussle and engaged in conversation before the shooting.
If convicted, Holder faces life in prison. As friends, family and fans mourn, many push for a rename of the intersection of Crenshaw and Slauson to Nipsey Hussle Blvd.
