Timberwolves guard and 2016 first-round pick, Malik Beasley sentenced on charges stemming from an October arrest of last year. After initially being arrested Beasley was not immediately charged with a crime. Later those charges would come. He would eventually be charged and plead guilty to a felony charge of threats of violence. The incident originally occurred in September.
The former Florida State Seminole will serve 120 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse, with stipulations. There are work release and home confinement options as well. The sentence will be served after the season is over so Beasley will be able to finish out the year with the Wolves. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium broke it down with a quote from Beasley’s attorney.

Beasley’s felony charge will be taken down to a misdemeanor after he completes probation. There was also a felony drug charge included, but it was dismissed. The young Timberwolves star is having a pretty good season and has been an important player for the organization this season. He is currently averaging over 20 points a game to go along with 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Minnesota also has the young overall number one 2020 NBA Draft pick, Anthony Edwards, to complement their other young stars this season.
February 8th was the last game the Timberwolves played. Beasley put up 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. They would lose to the Mavericks. The Timberwolves return to the court on February 10th against the Clippers at 8:00 PM.
