With the Heat retooling moving along without the King. It’s now time to dust themselves off and carry on makin their team contenders still.
According to Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski the Heat have signed Luol Deng to a 2-Year $20 Million Deal with a player option for Deng’s second year.
Deng chose the Heat believing their returning nucleus and free-agent signings can keep them contending in the Eastern Conference. The absence of state income tax made the Heat’s offer a sound financial decision for him, too.
Heat president Pat Riley and Deng’s agent Ron Shade talked on Saturday and completed the deal on Sunday morning.
Obviously this is a downgrade for the Heat in terms of their previous small forward but if Deng is confident about the Heat’s chances going forward. Who are we to judge?
