Lucky Daye has come a long way from auditioning for Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul on American Idol. Within the last two years alone, he’s collaborated with Earth, Wind & Fire, cast Jordyn Woods in the “Over” video and earned six Grammy nominations. In fact, his star has risen so far in the R&B skies that he was able to announce a tour and sell out a venue for an album that he hadn’t even given a trackless or release date for. Fortunately, some of those crucial details were revealed earlier today.
Lucky Daye has announced that his upcoming album, Candy Drip, will arrive on March 10. Along with the release date, he also shared the Candy Drip cover artwork. Deviating from the bright purples and greens that popped off the screen during the “Over” video and “Candy Drip” tour artwork, the album cover has a black background that allows the viewer to hone in on the singer’s face. Placed in the center, Lucky Daye poses shirtless with gold grills and a barbed wire chain as water falls upon him.
Only 15 days remain until Lucky Daye’s new album arrives on streaming services and only 23 days are left until he kicks off his tour in Portland, Oregon. Joined by Joyce Wrice, the Louisiana native will stop in more than two dozen cities as he promotes his new project.
