
Former NBA player and head coach Derek Fisher has accepted a job as the head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:
The Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA have hired Derek Fisher as head coach, league sources tell ESPN. News conference is set for Friday.

Fisher, 44, spent 18 years as an NBA player for the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks. Over the course of his career, he averaged 8.3 points and 3.0 assists per game on 39.9 percent shooting.
Following his playing career, Fisher was hired to be head coach of the New York Knicks. He coached the Knicks to a 17-65 record in 2014-15. He was fired 54 games into his second season. At that point, the team had a 23-31 record.
