It is being reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne some members of the Los Angeles Lakers will receive their COVID-19 vaccine this week. For those in the organization who want to get vaccinated, they will be able to. The Lakers will join the Hawks, Trail Blazers, and Pelicans as the teams who have players and/or staffers vaccinated. David McMenamin was also involved in the report.
According to McMenamin, the Lakers are being offered the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The J&J vaccine is just a one-time shot, making it slightly more feasible than others that require a second shot weeks after the first. However, it has been found to not be as effective as its Pfizer and Moderna counterparts.

The NBA is not making it a requirement to get the vaccine but has encouraged players and staff to get vaccinated once eligible. Due to HIPPA rules, there is no information on who among the Lakers will be getting the shot.
