Ball was named to the Second All-Rookie Team in his first season in the league after averaging 10.2 points, 6.9 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game in 52 appearances. He struggled to score efficiently, however, putting up very-poor .360/.305/.451 splits.
Ball missed 30 games of his rookie season with a knee contusion and a minorly sprained MCL.
The Lakers are trying hard to make a run at San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard, and Ball could potentially be a trade chip. Tim Bontempts of the Washington Post, however, reported Thursday that the Spurs are “uninterested” in Ball.
