Lizzo is no stranger to film, television and music, but the world of tech has been somewhat unkind to her. In fact, she recently told Marty Swant of Forbes that hardware and her just “don’t get along.” Despite her budding feud with the world of technology, she has taken a leap of faith and teamed up with Logitech for their “Defy Logic” campaign.
Getting Lizzo to lean into her fear of technology was not easy. However, Logitech’s Global Chief Marketing Officer Najoh Tita-Reid was able to get the job done. After talking to Tita-Reid, Lizzo told Forbes that the “Defy Logic” campaign aligned with who she is and hopes to continue to be.
“I feel like I definitely represent a lot of the ‘new’ version of things,” she told Swant.
“The new beauty standard, the new pop star, the new rule breaker, and how there’s just no rules anymore. I definitely identify with and represent those things, and it was nice to align myself with a campaign that was here to break the rules with me.”
As part of the campaign, the Grammy winner joined Kheris Rogers, Elsa Majimbo and many others for the company’s newest ad. Adding on, Lizzo prepared a new track for the 90-second spot as well.
