Lil’ Wayne is ready to break into the world of sports media. During a recent episode of The Skip Bayless Show, the show’s namesake revealed that the New Orleans native would join him for a special segment on the show every Friday.
“He is the heart and soul of the relaunch and by the way, bigger picture, Wayne has agreed every Friday going forward to doing a segment with me live. He might not always be in the studio, depending on his schedule, but he is going to join me every Friday for a segment,” Bayless told his viewers.
“He is so deep when it comes to sports. He doesn’t yell or scream, but he does get emotional and you hang on every word because trust me, he has thought through every single word. I like to say that I see things and say things others don’t. Wayne is my match that’s why I love him so much. That is why we text so much about sports.”
Lil’ Wayne is no stranger to working alongside Bayless. Over the years, he has joined the famed sportscaster on First Take and Undisputed to talk about his music, the biggest sports stories of the day and much more. Not to mention, he joined Wale for a performance of “Running Back” on the set of First Take nearly a decade ago.
Beyond Lil’ Wayne’s involvement, it’s unclear who will join Bayless as the lead costar for the daily sports talk show. Following Shannon Sharpe’s departure, Keyshawn Johnson and Richard Sherman have been mentioned as potential replacements. However, no announcements have been made in regards to a permanent replacement.
