Lil Wayne shares cover art and release date for his upcoming album Funeral.
The New Orleans rapper shared an animated version of the album cover, announcing the availability of merchandise and the date fans can expect the album. January 31, 2020 is the official release date of the long-awaited project. Funeral follows up Lil Wayne’s last album The Carter V which dropped in 2018.
Funeral is spelled out in dark-red gothic letters over a plain, almost stark white background. The cover art text is also an ambigram, spelling out Lil Wayne’s name when flipped upside down. In 2019, Lil Wayne set out on a joint tour with Blink 182 where he almost quit during an not-so-well received performance.
Lil Wayne is slated to headline Beale Street Music Festival alongside Juicy J in Memphis this upcoming spring.
